A Leica M3/M2/M4/M6 is just as wide as a Leica R4/R5/R6/R7 and not a hell of a lot shorter in height. The one really "ultra-pocketable" Leica (other than the early screwmount models) was, of course, the Leica CL, which in many ways remains a unique gem in the entire Leica line. Just as an M is outclassed when it comes to long lenses, so is an R out of place when it comes to ultra-pocketability and wide-angle lenses.
