There is no correlation. Because an accessory was late, does that mean the main system is somehow inferior? Do you understand what pressures there are to build in all of the features of the R8 and release in a timely manner? Have you developed complex products before, and worked out when the best balance between economic survival and engineering perfection can coexist? From an economic standpoint, Leica was able to sell a year's worth of R8's to generate more money. The profits could fuel the next set of wonderful aspherical M lenses or whatever they plan to develop. For this reason, you should be glad that Leica sold R8's this past year. From a user's standpoint, perhaps you should appreciate the year's use of the camera, albeit without motor assist. If motorization was such a high priority, you had/have the option of getting an R7 with motordrive. Besides, real LUGgers shun new technologies anyway :-) !
