There has been no further optical reworking, though the lens mount has been redesigned to accomodate an inbuilt hood. The 2.8/90 Elmarit does not have an aspherical element. It is quite unlikely that Leica would redesign one of their newest lenses when the optical performance of the Elmarit is so stunningly good.
