Unfortunately, you cannot separate object and intention, Jim. If it 
were possible, you could change "Leica" into "a-bomb", and your above
statement would be still true - at least if you remember the lot
of glory statements following Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 

The object/ intention separation was re-animated (again) by behaviorists, 
like Skinner etc, to justify a certain way of scientific approach. But 
it is and was used also, to silence individual or public consciousness.
