Ted, Donal, et al.

Back when I used to photograph for the daily newspaper one of the few
benefits I derived from my two-pack-a-day cigarette addiction was the
free cellophane wrapper. Ever so convenient when it came time to perfect
the imperfect. Also, lets not forget that especially with women (black &
white) it doesn't hurt to print the skin tones a little light so there
is less skin detail. Look at all the b&w fashion ads if you want to see
lack of skin detail. Nowadays, I have some bobinette (black mesh)
stretched over a hole in cardboard that I use for diffusion after having
forgotten to photograph deserving subjects with softening filters. And
does everyone really expect to look 15 years younger and 20 pounds
lighter?
