Not with Leicas, unfortunately, but I do use Nikon's 85 mm f/1.4 and 180
f/2.8 lenses. Without a doubt, background blur is more pronounced with the
85 than the 180. As an example, when photographing my dog and filling the
frame with her head  with the 85 at 1.4, little more than her eyes are in
focus. Filling the frame with her head using the 180 at 2.8,  eyes and nose
fall within the depth of field.
