Marvin, what do you mean by Leica "N"?  My M6 is a Leitz Wetzlar version.
Is it old enough to have the proper baseplate for opening Leica film cassetes?

Oops...too early in the morning...The term "N-cassette" appeared about
three times in your post, yet I failed to notice it!  the second part of my
question is still valid, though.
