This was NOT a special edition, just normal production for the time. Collectors have taken to calling them "Panda" M6's due to their chrome and black combination, but as far as I know this term was never used by Solms. You can do the same thing with today's M6 just by changing the parts. It is no big deal, though strangely some collectors are paying a premium for it when they shouldn't.
