Subject: Older Sumiluxes

I have found my 70s vintage 35 & 50mm Sumiluxes quite satisfactory, and
certainly superior to the AF Nikkors (35/2 & 50/1.4) I tried to replace
'em with (The M-2 was appreciating so rapidly I thought I would set it
on the shelf and take great pictures with a high tech Nikon body and
lenses. WRONG: What I got were flat fuzzy pictures a 1/10th second late.)

Since I shoot available darkness on a fairly regular basis, the f/1.4
brings home pictures an f/2 lens can't. If I had the money, I'd want to
try the new ASPH and Noctilux, but that not being the case, the old
Sumiluxes are the choice.

Indeed, even if I had the money to get new M glass, as tempting as that
might be, I would probably spend it on R lenses to fill the gigantic gaps
in my Leicaflex outfit...
