The heat isn't the major problem but the humidity is. Except for when I'm out shooting, my lenses stay indoors in a closet or cupboard, usually in a bag or backpack. There is always air-conditioning on, and so the humidity is kept to a minimum. I read somewhere that exposure to UV light can prevent fungus growth, but I've never tried it. I'd have to say that without air- conditioning I might be inclined to rig up a cabinet with a UV light (like those used in indoor greenhouses) and keep the lenses under the light, sitting upright with the front caps off so the light shines down through them. There are also electric de-humidifiers which can dry out a small room or closet, but they have to be emptied frequently. I've never been out "in the field" in humid conditions long enough to worry about fungus (there's always an air- conditioned car or motel) so I can't offer much help with that. Doc
