HP5+ is great in Microphen at 800 and 1600, but you'll need more than that probably. I would just shoot Tmax 3200. It's really great stuff at 3200 and beyond too. I have good results developing it in Tmax 1+4, at 80 degress. Develop it with minimal agitation -- a gentle inversion every two or three minutes -- for six to eight minutes, or longer if using a higher ISO. In my experience, shooting it at 3200 and developing warm with little agitation results in fine grain and beautiful tones that print on grade 2 in my Leitz Focomat Ic (see, on topic!). The lack of agitation seems to prevent the highlights from blocking up, and of course fighting contrast is the big problem you will face. I used that formula shooting night football just last weekend and got nice, even results, even with black jerseys/black helmets. Good luck. Bill
