Hi Harrison,

I have only seen one person hand holding a Canon, non-auto focus 400 2.8
shooting sports, it is my number two son, Scott.:)   He uses it in that
manner shooting figure skating at the Olympics and any other such events. 

I hate to sound like a "father talking about a son" :) however he also does
weight lifting and has very powerful shoulders and arms so I believe this
gives him the ability to handle the lens and camera in this manner.

I know this ordinary "stick user" here sure can't use the Leica 400 2.8
hand held, it takes me enough effort just to keep the thing vertical and on
the subject even on a monopod.:)

It sure is a wonder to watch him follow those skaters / NHL hockey players 
and football players moving that lens around and producing the images he
does.

Damn kid keeps blowing me outta the water! :)
