I can only offer the unsubstantiated recollection that everything I have read 
suggests that the Elmarit-M is the equal or the superior of the Summicron at 
all apertures they have in common, and my own observation completely free of 
true comparative value that the Elmarit-M is a superb lens and continues to 
draw me into photos made with it.  Never used the Summicron, but I'm convinced 
I've used the Elmarit on several occasions I wouldn't have bothered to tote 
along the hefty Summicron, had I owned one instead.

But to paraphrase someone recently -- the Summicron toasts the Elmarit at 
f/2.0...
