My company is buying me a complete Nikon digital outfit in January, including a 300 2.8 AF-S, and I'm selling my personal Nikons and getting some kind of Leica outfit. Probably an M outfit with speedy lenses. Nikon has everyone beat in sports photography with the AF-S lenses. On the other hand, the Leica 280mm 2.8 is one awesome lens. If I was just shooting commercial work, Leica would be my choice.
