Subject: Japanese "M" mount

A Japanese acquaintance of mine just returned from Tokyo with 2 beautiful
Leica "M" mount lenses. According to him > "The Leitz (Leica) patent for
the bayonet mount, has run out & therefore expect to see many new
lenses on the market at less than German prices." <

It's funny that you should say that, because Adorama has done exactly
that. They sell 21 and 28mm lenses with accessory finders in the M mount
for approx. $700 each. Popular Photography did a test of the two lenses
and said that they were essentially fair quality no-name Japanese glass.
They might not be selling out of them, but they must have perceived some
demand for these lenses if they went to the trouble of putting them on
 sale.
