 Robert -

   Since the DR Summicron was made from 1956 to 1968 -
  and you wanted it to have a hood like the original;
  1956 - ITDOO
  1959 - IROOA/12571
  '63-'68 - 12585
   All three are reversible with caps for the back available.
   I prefer the 12585 as it has cut-outs so not to obscure
   the VF, but you have to be careful about glare coming
   in thru them.
   If you aren't a strict "authentic nut" then any hood that
   fits would be adequate as Leica hoods are expensive,
   costing from $45 to $100 each.

 Now, here is my question: The DR results are also great, but side by
 side to the ASPH you can definitely see a difference in contrast. (less)
 So, I think I must get a lens hood.

 Which one?
