Probably this has been hashed out many times here, but I am new so please
forgive me if this is redundant:

I currently own a 35 Summicron 3rd gen (# 11309 circa 1973) and a 50
Summicron (#11817 circa 1970-71) which I believe is considered a 1st
generation design. I have shot test slides with both lenses and under 8x
loupe I can see definite softness and some light fall-off in the corners at
f/2 and 2.8 and even a little at f/4...this is particularly evident with the
50mm. My question to those in the know: would I see an astounding
improvement in the performance at these apertures with the 11310 35 and the
11819 and also 11826 50mm's. Is there a big "jump" between these two last
versions also?

Thanks so very much!
