Just compare the top plate with the older M series cameras. The old one is elegant while the new one is bare-assed naked! Apparently, the new crew does not have an eye for how things should look. Kind of like sending bulldozer designers to put the finishing touches on a Porsche. Reminds me of their need to upgrade their M-6 brochure which is just a bunch of fuzzy photos rather than razor sharp images the lenses are capable of producing in the the hands of capable photographers. Leica has always lost out to the Hasselblad advertising because Hasselblad had the good sense to provide sharp photos while the Leica executives pumped out stuff even newsprint photographers would be ashamed to print.
