(TWO LUGS FOR PRESIDENT)
I have heard many grounds for M5 3 lugs
I would like to become the advocate of 2 lugs cause ;-) ;-) ;-)
here is two little reasons to choose 2 lugs  (VOTE TWO LUGS)
If you use 3 lugs you have these problems
1) for multiple and rapid shots the strap obstructs you because you can't
 make a complete angle with the winding lever ; you have to make a double
strokes
2) if you use 3 lugs and put the strap under the Base plate Camera, the
 strap obstruct you when you have to rewind and change film. (not quick)
 If you want you have to can cut the strap  or use a special strap divided
into half  (not smart)
