I cannot count how many times I've printed til the wee hours, washed, dried and spotted my prints, and walked away loving the results. Next day, I look at them again, and I like them. About a week later I hate them. This is the fate of the photographer who truly loves the craft - never being satisfied with your results. I have always done this, but was only made aware of it when I read "The Print" by A. Adams (our Spanish friend Jose Luis called me cheap for borrowing the book from the library, "why so cheap?", "Buy the book." nag nag nag). Anyway, in the book Adams describes one of the images that he has labored on. In his description he writes that he "should have" done such and such, or if he had it do over again he "would have" done something diferent. I thought about it and wondered why he didn't reprint the picture if he was unhappy with it. Then I realized that he probably had - several times. Regards, Ben W.
