Alistair,

My LAX correspondent chipped in with this re: the DR and M6.
This indicates that at least two versions were available and if M4 or
later is involved, it behooves you to look for the later serial nos.

- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
The older DR lens mounts and dismounts as Alistair described.
There were two or three changes during the life of the lens, and the
mounting "feature" as described by Alistair was eliminated on later
models.

Outside of mounting, dismounting the lens, nothing is wrong. Just another
"feature" that came and went.

There is nothing wrong with the cam. That is the way it was designed.

Yet another "Strange but True!"

Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only
truth, but supreme beauty--a beauty cold and austere,
like that of sculpture, without appeal to any part of
our weaker nature, without the gorgeous trappings of
painting or music, yet sublimely pure, and capable of
a stern perfection such as only the greatest art can show.
