I still have and often use an early D/S M-3, mainly for sentimental
reasons, as I
purshased it in 1958 and it was my first "M". Outside of having the "glass"
pressure plate replaced with a metal one, the main draw-back to the D/S is
forgetting to cock the shutter twice; therefore missing that instant once in
a life-
time shot. This only happens when you shoot with other single stroke cameras

                                                                            &
havent acquired the automatic D/S habit I also still have the IIIg that I
bought at about the same time but used very little after acquiring the M-3.
The screw mnt. red scale Elmar was fit with an adapter to use on the bayonet
mnt and shutter speeds
of 1/30 and 1/60 instead of 1/25 & 1/50 as the difference is insignificant.
