Subject: Re: Minolta & Gossen meters ( Was Re: Incident Meters and such)

I have used the Minolta Flashmeter IV for a long time now. Up until very
recently, it was the most accurate meter I have had. It suddenly started
giving me some false readings (crazy enough for me to know they were way
off), so I replaced it with a Flashmeter V. I now trust it as much as its
predecessor.

Over the last 25 years, I have used seversal Sekonic and Gossen meters. I
trust the Flashmeter IV and V more than any of them, and have standardized
on it as my incident meter of choice. I also have a Minolta Spot Meter M
that I find I don't use much. I bought it for field work with a 4x5 and a
Hasselblad. I tend to use the incident meter instead.

Lately, I have been going out on photo shoots carrying only an M3 with a DR
Summicron. The Flashmeter V is as big as the camera. I have been reading
with interest the comments about the Sekonic 328BII. I think I might have
to give it a try.
