This is not certain. They stopped to have everything in stock, that is true.
But they often are able to help. The difference to the M-Leicas: Here Leica
guarantees that they cann repair everything.

So if you don't find somebody else to repair it, do not hesitate to ask them.
OTOH one may very well buy a M3 in user condition for that, I believe.
