Re: Price guide (for your information): SM only : 2.000 $ and bayonet
convertible to SM : 1.000$ (lens only)
A small hole (screw securing the bayonet) close to the back of a SM lens
show a not original SM.

<Since I am looking for the f3.4 version so I didn't buy it. I have a few

<1. Is 21mm f3.4 optical performance better than f4.0?

Re: Yes, specially for colour photography, sharper and less light fall off
on border.

<2. Is 21mm f4.0 more expensive than f3.4 because its SM and BM
convertability?

Re: -The 21mm/4 SM is more expensive because of scarcity.(1462 ex.)and
because there is no other 21mm in SM.

- -The 21mm/4 bayonet is less expensive because of quality. (5292 ex.)
