The 'Fat' (five-element) lens is often called simply the 'Tele-Elmarit'
while the 'Slim' (four-element) lens is then the 'Tele-Elmarit-M'.

Leitz changed their designations in the 1970's to add -M, -R, or -V to
their lens names to indicate intended usage.
