It's unfortuate that human nature seems to run this way. In this case, 
the people who don't use Leicas have an irrational distain for them, and 
the ones who do use Leicas can be absurdly defensive about it.

FWIW, the "M" stands for "Messucher," which is a German word that means 
"rangefinder/viewfinder."
