Subject: R8 and 3 cam R lenses--LEICA FAX

On Saturday, Leica New Jersey sent out a fax labeled "URGENT" to all
Leica camera dealers.  

To quote it: "Any Leica lens which has 3 cams cannot be used on the R8."

The top cam which is required for metering on the original Leicaflex
"may scratch" the R8 contacts, causing the camera to short out.

The solution is to remove the top cam.  So converted, the lens will
still meter properly with all Leica R models EXCEPT the original
Leicaflex.   No price is given for this conversion.
