I reckon that there is an affinity between a Leica and the gunsmith's art.
Both have precision. That seems to be the only common denominator. 

But if the LUG is about photography as well as Leicas, then discussion about
a Mauser or a Luger belong elsewhere.

I can't decide whether LUG is about photography or precision. If I had a
vote, I'd cast it for photography as done with a Leica. You can't do
photography with a firearm. You can't even say, for example, hey that's a
Remington shot, and hold up a target riddled with punctures.

So perhaps, with the assent of my colleagues, we might say that LUG is
dedicated to photography done with a Leica. 

I guess those of us who want to talk about firearms, might do so privately --
and have the best of both worlds, now that they know each other. They have
two interests in common, love of Leicas and whatever firearm they favor. 

Meanwhile the LUG is free of recoil and rectitude. And we bring 'em back
alive.
