  Subject: 21/4 Super-Angulon-R

Incidentally, while looking up this lens in Eastland's "Leica R
Compendium," I noticed that the 24/2.8 Elmarit-R is described as the
lens of choice for people needing something between a 28 and a 21, or
words to that effect! Clearly, it's preferable to the 25/2
  Summicron-R and the 23/4 Elmar-R.

I looked this up again tonight, and I seem to have imagined this. I
am guilty of poking fun at Eastland for saying something he did not in
fact say. What he did say was that the 24 has an angle of view midway
between that of the 28 and the 21, which is perhaps a more precise
statement than is entirely useful, but not nearly so silly as what I'd
remembered him saying. Uh, sorry. I haven't been getting enough
sleep lately.
