How I got invovled in R leicas about 10 years ago our house was burgularized and all of my 35mm eguipmant was stolen. I had a very nice Leica M system. And a very extensive Canon SLR system, In fact I took it as a personal affront when Canon Discontinued the FD mount. When looking around for a new SLR I realized that only Leica and Nikon never changed there mounts. SO since I hate Nikon, I bought into the R system. And what has surprised me the most is the bad rap that the R bodies system gets from the detractors. I have been very pleased with the the R system conponents that I have owned. The lenses are stunning, I get the Leica glow from the R lenses, and they are a bargain compared to M lenses (when purchased used). I trully enjoy my R and M systems. JOhn
