One significant design problem with the M6 is the battery cover.  This will
easily come slightly adrift, and the light meter will then fail -- just
tighten the cover and it will come back on line.  Or maybe the battery just
went dead at that point.  Obviously, a quick way to test this is to point
the camera at a light and see if the camera registers.
