I used my MR-4's for two years on silver-oxide and they were well within 1/6 stop. The Japanese designers relied on the flat discharge rate of the mercury cell and did not, as a rule, build voltage regulators into their circuitry. Thus, most Nikon and Canon, &c, gear DOES require an adapter or Wein cell to maintain accuracy. Thus, worry not about batteries. Convert to obtainable power sources and keep on clicking!
