I'm not sure why??? The Leica polarizer has a yellow dot that is supposed to face the dot on the lens hood. I'm not sure if that is for the mechanics or for the polarization. Anyway, mine has always worked and without any great amount of pressure. I also have a B+W 62EW circ pol that I use on the 24mm (with B+W 62-60 reducing adapter). With this I can screw in a B+W 82EW KR-3 or KR-6 if I need a warming filter in addition to the polarizer. The outside thread of the 62EW is 82mm. I have been using the above for many years with no problems. My opinion is if you use a Cokin setup, you probably should opt for the Tiffen glass pol that fits the Cokin-P holder rather than the Cokin plastic filter. Glass won't scratch, is flat, and easy to clean. The problem is that the square Tiffen filters are not "circular." I know nothing about the Cokin filter except that it's resin (plastic.) Jim
