In prior threads, there has been a certain amount of disdain for the CLE/CL serious, usually citing things like it isn't really a Leica, it is a Minolta, it isn't an M, etc., but then there are accolades for the p&s series which obvoiusly are not Ms and not Leicas (most owing their heritage to existing Asian designs and modified), etc. Much of this comes from M owners. Previosly I had responded to the M7 issue with some levity thrown in, however, in all seriousness, both the screww mount and the M series are unigue, long term users. When I talk to others who are into photography, most cite their desire is to one day own a Leica. Admittedly, most could not live with the M because of its design limits, however, many with slrs, don't need them. They shoot hand held, with less than a 135mm, vertually never macro, but with some flash. Brian Levy, J.D. Agincourt Ont. dlevy@worldy.com
