No, Craig the rectangular cap you want is not available, never has been. Leica started supplying rectangular lens hood covers with the S'lux-M 1.4/35 mm ASPHERICAL if I'm not mistaken. The latest version of the Elmarit-M 2.8/28 mm has one, the new Elmarit-M 2.8/24 mm has one too. Lenses older than the S'lux-M 1.4/35 mm ASPHERICAL, like the Elmarit-M 2.8/21 mm, Elmarit-M 2.8/28 mm (third version) and the Summicron-M 2.0/35 mm don't have a matching lenshood cover. I know from a Leica salesman caps for these lenses were often asked for, he himself said he wished Leica would make them. To me it appears Leica is paying more attention to users-wishes, e.g. rectangular lens hood caps, the new 2.8/24 mm (see Jonathan Eastland's Leica M Compendium page 172: "a 24 mm has been talked about for several years"), the Leica-M grip (due at the end of this year), lenses available in different finishes.
