Michael,

The whole idea sounds quite OK for my European ears ...
The APO 100 mm is a _good_ piece of glass, the price seems OK for me 
(US Leica friends can tell more about that). The 1.4/35 R is said to 
be the best R 35 mm lens available "simply over the counter".

The only part of the deal I would be cautious about is to be sure to 
get full guarantee for the R8 body. The shutter is _really_ fast - 
and i doubt whether it will break too early? (Well, certainly this is 
Leica made and Leica makes tools to last for ever, I'm simply curious 
about that point).
