My M3 make a similar noise for any speed below the flash sync speed, that is
somtinhg between 1/60 and 1/30. I have never had a poroblem with it (except
for the noise!) but who knows? I will sometimes take to a repairperson...

BTW, if you get any more info. on that, I would very obliged if you just
dropped me a note!
