In London (Watford actually, about an hour by Underground -on a good day- from the centre- SRS Ltd) they are about UKP 260.00 for black current production lenses with viewfinder, so your one seems to be a good price. I think the first 2 digits of the serial number give the year of manufacture, although somewhere I read that someone didn't agree this was always the case. Can't comment on performance- (yet) but it feels good in use and zone focusing by dof scale is the easy way- it involves very little actual focusing. There is a whole article on it in Photon magazine archives which is available on the web somewhere- try; http://www.scotborders.co.uk/photon/april95/russar.html -- joe b.
