I have been fascinated by the inflation-indexed comparisons which show that
Leicas, Palo Alto real estate etc cost more today than 30 years ago. But do
these exercises take into account rises in household income, not just inflation?
In other words, for how many days would the average UK or US citizen have had to
work to purchase a new Leica rangefinder in 1966 vs 1996? Anyone got any
calculations that can shed light on this?
