According to Pete Stone, who has done a lot of testing, the 28mm R lens
(current version with built-in lens hood (extensible)) is the best 28mm lens
on the market, period. 

Pete seems to know what he's talking about, and from what I've heard, the
new M lens is nearly as good. Which camera would you prefer to use them on?
I don't think you could go wrong either way.
