To further make us all cry...

I have a 1960 Leica catalogue in front of me...and the "list price" for a
Leica m-3 with a 50mm f2 Summicron is $447.00...and then you could
routinely get a 20% discount from most dealers...

...or to put it in Eric's terms...about one-week of my pay as a
photojournalist for the Milwaukee Journal, at that time.

Today, an m-6 body, sans lens is about $2400...or about two-three weeks
photojournalistic pay...

...all of which explains why I gave up newspapering in 1970, to pursue the
stock photography biz.

...so now I can afford m-6's and r-7's!!!

...and, so, the newspaper photojournalists, who could most benefit from
these cameras,  cannot afford them. Now there's a real pity!
