The Wetzlar tripod saga runs as follows: TOOSF original, 1936 TOOUG black crinkle version, 1949 TOOUG grey enamel finish (1959 or thereabouts) 14100 late TOOUG with new catalogue number (There are also Tiltall tripods sold by EL NY, but these carry different numbers.) I have and use both the black-crinkle and the grey enamel versions. They are identical for all purposes and ought also to be identical in used prices.
