The FED cameras are derived from the Leica II, which is why they have no
slow speeds and only go to 1/500" to this day.  But their rugged and
dependable within those confines.

The basic LTM design has thus continued in production without interruption
from 1922 or thereabouts to the present, a record which causes other
manufacturers to blanch in disbelief.  There's something sound about the
basic design ...
