I would approach the question of a fisheye viewfinder by looking into the
various finders available for super wide angle underwater lenses. There are
many innovative solutions to the problem.... often using very simple optical
arrangements.  I believe this is not the complex problem that you may think. 
Look at Nikon finders and then ask Gale at Ikelite in Indianapolis, Indiana
or Paul  Schutt at Helix camera in Chicago. You may be surprised.
