Unfortunately, I do not agree with his observations about the Minolta 28mm lens for the CLE. I did not and do not find it excessively contrasty. At least not mine. And, I know this will raise a flurry ot comments..... and that's OK..... but I think most of the talk about contrasty lenses is just short of hogwash. There are "flat" lenses to be sure.... old ones usually.... bad zooms, awful teles, etc...... but I have never seen a lens from anyone anywhere any time that even approached the contrast introduced by a contrasty film. The lens just cannot do all that much to augment contrast. But a lousy film, like the old Kodachrome 64, can exhibit such inherent contrast that it is almost impossible to ever get a decent picture in bright sun. All right...... let the incoming slams begin...... duck, INCOMING!
