Someone asked whether I knew whether the 50/2.8 Elmar on the M6J had been
recomputed (since its discontinuance in the '60's) and whether it was available
separately.

The Elmar was not being sold separately at the shop at which I saw it
(naturally I stopped in at more than one Leica emporium, but only "Lemon"
had an M6J). The November issue of Asahi Camera has a little note on the M6J
"What's New at Photokina"-type thing, but I'm afraid I can only discern
the following facts from this article, my kanji being a little rusty:
1640 M6J sets will be made.
The fincer contains fromes only for 35, 50, 90, and 135mm lenses.
The article makes several references to the G1 but I haven't doped out the
context yet.

If anyone on this group reads Japanese I'd be happy to FAX the article out in
the hope of seeing a translation on the net.
