The churches are predominantly around Schulenburg; maybe a radius of 15
miles. They are made of wood except for one or two that are brick
exterior. The local communities would not allow the Federal Government to
lay hands on their churches; they are all currently active parishes. They
have fundraisers in the fall where they auction items to raise the
necessary funds to maintain the church's facilities; last year a watermelon
went for $600.
