Looks good! Those who are new to long lenses would do well to watch Steve Perry's YouTube video about the common causes of unsharpness with long lenses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aJ6VtSH8Cw

Subject: [Leica] New 300mm Lens

I have finally gotten out to shoot something other than the hillside by my house to try out my new Nikon 300/4 PF lens. I have a lot to learn. I have never shot with anything over 200 and then rarely so. I shot 60 shots with maybe 5 with the focus being nailed on what I wanted. Admittedly they are all up very close with a very shallow DOF and all hand held, so any small waver will through the focus plane off, but they were almost all off in the same way. I did not think you had to fine tune the focus on a mirrorless camera, but maybe I do.

Anyway, here are some shots of an 8 Spotted Skimmer by a pond.

And a Spreadwing Damselfly, not sure which one.

All are cropped about 50%. I have ordered a 1.4x Converter that is due next week.

Comments welcome
