Dear Enquiring Minds,
actually I thought I had done OK with the tree and the table, but less
well with the others. Yes, I had adjusted them for exposure, contrast
etc. My processing s/w (DarkTable) made it look OK on the screen, but
each time I process using it I am less than satisfied with what ends up
appearing on the LUG pages.
I preferred PSE where I had greater flexibility, but my chosen platform
(Linux) doesn't support PSE (rather it's the other way round with Adobe
refusing to support Linux)*
Ideally I would like to get Silver Halide levels of rendition, but... (I
would settle for Platinum ;-) ) Seriously this is an area where I think
that the Monochroms excel. Shame I don't have one!
As for the rest of the photos, no I wasn't happy but thought that I
would put it up anyway.
thanks for the comments, They are MUCH appreciated.
Peter
* I run Linux because it is the platform that I use for
compute-intensive work such as astronomcal data analysis.
